Students in high schools in New York City are able to explore professional arts careers. Not only do they learn about what it takes to become one of the "stars" that they idolize, but they learn about the professional men and women who play important "behind the scenes" roles . . . like the composers and choreographer, like the technicians who operate the computer programs and sound equipment, like the people who write and design the liner notes. Through personal experiences with industry professionals, artist residencies, professional development for teachers, field trips to arts business, and a series of materials designed to introduce these important careers, these students can make more informed choices about their future careers.
