Jazz and classical musicians learn innovative, alternative approaches to traditional music education through the Bach2Bop program. Young Audiences and WBGO-FM (Newark Public Radio) have teamed up to design a professional development program that allows artist educators to explore three important questions with a faculty of experts:
1) What should I teach?
2) How can I teach effectively?
3) How can I make my program irresistible to students?
The answers involve learning about the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards, innovative learning approaches, and effective communication. Results of the training and its effectiveness will be made available through the YAI network.
