Artist/Teacher Teams in Oregon

In Oregon, Arts for Learning is a statewide project that emerged from a vision that all children can meet and exceed learning goals while developing a lifelong affinity for the arts. It brings artists and teachers together through creative teaching, new technologies and advocacy. Educators share their expertise and learn from one another ways to help broaden and deepen their teaching of the arts to young people through professional development workshops. They create the Arts for Learning Website and companion CD-ROM which is filled with arts related classroom activities, vocabulary and connections to academic content standards, as well as descriptions of specific artist residencies in visual arts, dance, theatre, music and literary arts.
Artists and teachers who are participating in Arts for Learning can continue to share ideas and work on refining content by going to the Artist/Teacher Bulletin Board.
