This highly effective intervention program uses Young Audiences artists to introduce multi-ethnic and multicultural arts, classic literature, visual arts, theater and creative writing to juvenile offenders. Through the arts these troubled youth learn to express their identity; and heighten communication and conflict resolution skills. The program has expanded in recent years to include:
1) Classes, workshops and projects in the Dallas County Juvenile Department
facilities.
2) A six-week summer programs
3) A visual arts focus group throughout the year for probation students
4) Mentoring program and scholarships
